Sartorius contacted Plan2Scan to understand how they could go about scanning their documents. Plan2Scan provided an overview of the scanning project and provided project advice to ensure the documents could be found quickly and effectively.

“Initially our plan was to have all of the drawings scanned individually and indexed on the drawing number. However, after considering what we wanted to achieve, Plan2Scan provided us with an innovative, alternative way to scan and index our documents. This helped us save money on the overall cost of the project.”

Plan2Scan introduced Sartorius to OCR(optical character recognition) software that reads the documents as they’re being scanned. This meant Sartorius could scan the drawings in batches, open the PDF and do a search on the drawing number they required. This was a much faster and efficient way of running the project.

We had a large volume of A3 documents that we have to hold for quality control and audit purposes, these documents would often be requested by our office or engineers via the drawing number. This would take up a lot of employee time finding the correct drawing from 10’s or thousands of pages.
